Self-Confidence means to believe in yourself and your abilities. A confident person trusts in his abilities, qualities, and judgments. A Confident person can handle any sort of difficult situation in life. A confident person is, all in all, happy the way he is. This doesn't necessarily mean that he can't improve and get better. But, he isn't insecure about it and is never ashamed of himself.
Confidence doesn't come overnight. But, It's a trait that will come over time. If you lack self-confidence, you should not get anxious about it and feel guilty. Instead, you can build up self-confidence from today with these life-changing tips.
Remember, consistency is the key. If you apply these tips which I have mentioned below and be committed to it, then it's certain, that you will see a positive change in yourself.1. Stop comparing yourself with others:
Instead, you should only compare yourself to yourself and analyze how much have you improved from the person you were in the past. Focus on your positive strengths and try to make them stronger. Love yourself first, then others. Accept where you stand in life and be okay with imperfection. Be grateful for what you have and don't feel ashamed of yourself because you know, this isn't the end of the world.
2. Discover yourself:
You know, your enemy isn't anybody except your inner self. Get to know yourself first, focus on your thoughts and try to figure out what negative thoughts stop you from being confident. Pick up a diary or any piece of paper and write down your negative thoughts. then scrutinize why you have such negative thoughts. And then think about the good things about yourself, the things you are good at, the things you like.
When you figure it out and dive deep within yourself, then eventually, you will rise as a confident person.
3. Set a small goal and achieve it:
Most people make the mistake of setting bigger goals. You shouldn't set bigger goals first because whenever you set up bigger goals from the beginning of your improvement journey, the chances of failure are much higher, and since you fail, you get discouraged and depressed. I understand that anything is possible, but I have experienced, if you set small goals first, they tend to be more achievable. And when you achieve it, it feels worth it. It makes you happy, motivates you, and makes you more confident to strive for another one.So, first set a goal that you know you can achieve. The more you achieve small goals, the better you will be at it. After you progress in achieving the small goals then it's time to prepare for the bigger ones and achieving that too.
4. Acquire new skills and habits:
As you know, self-confidence means trusting in your abilities. So, one of the best ways to trust in your abilities is to acquire new skills and experiences. But, to gain skills and experiences, you will have to get out of your comfort zone. So, what are the skills that will boost your confidence? It can be anything like:
➤Learning a new language
➤ Reading books will increase your knowledge.
➤Problem-solving skills
➤Good communication skills
➤ Do exercise or play any outdoor game you like.

Maintaining good eye contact is a crucial non-verbal skill because it shows self-confidence, self-esteem, and interest. So, how can you maintain good eye contact with someone? I understand it can be difficult for you, you may feel uncomfortable at first, but eventually, with consistency and practice, you will do it. If you follow these rules and start practicing, I assure you that you will learn this skill.
- Use the 50/80 rule:
Maintain eye contact 50% of the time when speaking and 80% when listening.
- Look away slowly:
When you look away too quickly, it can make you appear shy. Always try to look away slowly in a conversation but remember, keep the 50/80 rule in mind.
- Start a conversation:
Start a conversation with someone around you; it can be your friend or family member. If you don't know how to start a conversation, think of some getting-to-know questions before starting a conversation and practice it daily.
7. Take care of your hygiene:
Taking care of your hygiene is a vital element for you to look and feel confident. You can't imagine how much of a difference a shower can make in your feeling of self-confidence and self-esteem. Whereas poor hygiene can lower your self-esteem, overall health, and the way you feel about yourself.By maintaining good personal hygiene, you will also look more attractive to other people. You can improve your social environment and interpersonal relationships by maintaining good personal hygiene.
6. Dress nicely:
How you look at the outside influences how you feel inside, dressing is something different for everyone. It doesn't necessarily mean wearing a super-expensive outfit. But, a casual dress that is nice and clean. If you dress well, you will feel so good about yourself and most importantly, you will look presentable and confident. Nice dressing not only boosts your self-confidence but also shows people that you take care of yourself. The confidence you gain makes you relax in different situations like interviews, meetings. It helps you build excellent social skills and have a positive impact on your career. It's a step towards your overall self-improvement.
8. Speak slowly:
Speaking slowly can make you sound professional and eloquent. People will pay more attention to you too, as they'll observe that you are thinking before responding to them; this thing makes you look more sensible to them. You will automatically become part of their conversation. You will feel more relax and confident. On the other hand, you will tend to make more mistakes if you speak fast. Making mistakes might embarrass you and you might feel bad about it later. Therefore, to present yourself as a confident person, you should always think before speaking and speak slowly and clearly, as it will give you some time to think before responding.
9. Become an active listener:
Listening is as essential as speaking. To keep the conversation going on, you'll have to listen to other's thoughts and opinions. Listen attentively to others as you would be able to figure out what they're saying. You will most definitely answer them well if you get to know what they are saying. When you listen to someone attentively, you establish a medium of communication. Good communication also plays a vital role in boosting your self-confidence. You will drop a positive image in front of another person if you give time to his thoughts, ideas, and opinions. People will likely share their thoughts, emotions, and ideas with a person who has the patience to listen. So, start becoming an active listener.
10. Live in the present:
Stop thinking how bad the past moments were, focus on the present and enjoy every piece of it. If you live in the present, you'll be able to focus on what you are doing without thinking about anything else. Think and dream but stop worrying about the future. You should always pay gratitude and appreciate the moments of today.Doing this will make your soul and body feel calm. You will feel happy about yourself. Start working on yourself today and enjoy your life.
